Albertus Magnus College will offer a new certified program in Financial Planning this fall.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board) has approved and registered the Albertus Magnus College Bachelor of Science in Finance, Concentration in Personal Financial Planning program. Students completing the program will have met the Education requirement for the CFP® Certification Examination administered by the CFP Board. An independent certifying organization, the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc., owns the CFP® and Certified Financial Plannerâ„¢ marks which it awards to individuals who meet its education, examination, experience, ethics and other requirements.

"CFP Board is pleased to approve the program at Albertus Magnus College as a CFP Board Registered Program," said Mike R. Greene, CFP®, chair of CFP Board's Board of Directors. "As student interest in financial planning as a career continues to grow, we anticipate that Albertus Magnus College's program will contribute significantly to the number of qualified candidates seeking to attain the CFP® certification, the standard of excellence for competent and ethical financial planning."

"We at Albertus look forward to offering the only CFP Board approved undergraduate program in the state of Connecticut beginning in fall 2016." Students will be able to pursue their degree in a traditional format or in the College's unique FLEX format that affords students the opportunity of choosing between online and blended course options on a course-by-course basis.
