Operations Assistant

Department:

Position Summary:

This is a temporary position (until May 31, 2018) with the potential for permanent employment. The Operations Assistant provides administrative support for the Office of Admission.

  • Responsible for processing all undergraduate admissions applications
  • Enter and maintain database for prospective students
  • Enter and maintain database for prospective students
  • Maintain Customer Relationship Management application file system (CRM)
  • Responsible for generating, updating and distributing statistical report
  • Provide training on CRM solutions to staff and work-study students
  • Coordinate mass mailings
  • Compile yearly enrollment profile report
  • Event Coordinator
  • Serve as secondary receptionist
  • Attend professional development meetings and training as requested
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Admission

Position Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Clerical experience, working in an office setting and an environment with extensive customer interaction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree and/or Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent College Credits
  • Technical proficiency Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Datatel Colleague System
  • Experience operating and reconciling spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of google products such as google docs, email, forms and spreadsheets
  • Experience working in a busy, high-demand office environment

Work Schedule Requirements:

Regular Business Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Some Saturday and event coverage will be required.

Assistant Professor and Chair of History

History and Political Science

Department Overview:

The Department is responsible for overseeing undergraduate majors in History and Political science; collaborating with the Education Department to support an initial teacher certification program in Social Sciences; and offering core courses in the College's General Education Program.

Position Overview:

The Department of History and Political Sciences at Albertus Magnus College invites application for a full-time appointment in History at the Assistant Professor level beginning with fall semester, 2017. The Department seeks a candidate to teach general survey and upper level courses in American History, and Political Science classes focusing on American Politics broadly understood (Constitutional Law, American Foreign Policy, and The Presidency). The ideal candidate will also possess a willingness and ability to contribute to the College’s General Education/Humanities curriculum and, as it would be expected that the candidate would assume the position of department chair within two years, prior administrative or advising experience is strongly preferred.

Other requirements include a commitment to innovative and student-centered pedagogy that places a high premium on critical inquiry, including high-impact practices such as collaborative learning experiences and service learning and the ability and desire to work with a diverse student body.

The college, which has served the needs of students for 92 years, seeks to provide an education that is scholarly, humanistically enlarging, and practical in its application.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in a relevant field is required. Those applying should show a strong commitment to experience in teaching at the undergraduate level. Excellence in the use of technology to support pedagogical goals is desired and experience in teaching blended and online classes is strongly preferred.

Part-Time Staff Positions

Part-time Athletic Trainer, Nine Month Position

Department:

Athletics

Department Overview:

Albertus Magnus College, an NCAA Division III institution located in New Haven, Connecticut, invites applications for the position of Part-Time Athletic Trainer. The Albertus Magnus Athletic Department is committed to the philosophy that the pursuit of excellence in competition is fully compatible with the pursuit of excellence in the classroom. A combination of the two endeavors lends itself to a more complete educational experience. Currently, the Falcons have 13 intercollegiate varsity programs.

Position Overview:

  • The Trainer will assist in the sports medicine program for the College including prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation
  • Provide Athletic training services for selected College varsity sports: practices and home contests
  • Keep accurate records and documentation of all medical history forms, athletic injury forms, concussion forms and rehabilitation progress notes
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization, Master’s degree preferred
  • Certification the National Athletic Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • Licensed as a Certified Athletic Trainer by the State of Connecticut

Special Work Schedule Requirements:

This is a 9 month position with weekend and evenings hours.

Part-time Faculty Member Positions – Chemistry

The Department of Biology/Chemistry/Mathematics at Albertus Magnus College is currently seeking part-time faculty members to teach courses in a fifteen (15) week format in the academic areas of (1) Organic Chemistry Laboratory and/or (2) General Chemistry Laboratory beginning the fall 2017 semester.

Preferred Qualifications:

The applicants must have at least a M.S. degree in Chemistry from an accredited institution and have some teaching experience in chemistry laboratory courses.
