Part-time Athletic Trainer, Nine Month Position

Department Overview:

Albertus Magnus College, an NCAA Division III institution located in New Haven, Connecticut, invites applications for the position of Part-Time Athletic Trainer. The Albertus Magnus Athletic Department is committed to the philosophy that the pursuit of excellence in competition is fully compatible with the pursuit of excellence in the classroom. A combination of the two endeavors lends itself to a more complete educational experience. Currently, the Falcons have 13 intercollegiate varsity programs.

Position Overview:

  • The Trainer will assist in the sports medicine program for the College including prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation
  • Provide Athletic training services for selected College varsity sports: practices and home contests
  • Keep accurate records and documentation of all medical history forms, athletic injury forms, concussion forms and rehabilitation progress notes
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization, Master’s degree preferred
  • Certification the National Athletic Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • Licensed as a Certified Athletic Trainer by the State of Connecticut

Special Work Schedule Requirements:

This is a 9 month position with weekend and evenings hours.

Part-time Faculty Member Positions – General Physics

Half-time Faculty

Psychology

Department and College Overview:

The Psychology Department includes 10 full- and half-time faculty members and operates undergraduate majors for traditional and non-traditional student populations as well as graduate programs in Clinical Counseling, Art Therapy & Counseling, Human Services, and Addiction Counseling.

Position Overview:

This new half-time position, a renewable annual appointment, will primarily support the clinical counseling program. The new hire will also teach in the department’s other programs as needed. This position also encompasses the role and responsibilities of the internship coordinator for the clinical counseling graduate program

Position Qualifications:

Applicants should hold an earned doctorate in counselor education (preferred), clinical/counseling psychology, or a closely related field. Teaching experience and experience as a professional counselor or psychotherapist are essential; administrative experience and evidence of scholarly potential are highly desirable. Licensed or license-eligible preferred. Expertise in cultural influences on counseling, evidence-based practice, or addictive behaviors would be a plus.
